LaVoz is known for its quality reeds, and this bassoon reed is no exception. Available in Medium, Medium Soft, and Medium Hard, you'll get a consistent reed with a good tone. General information on bassoon reeds: Bassoon reeds are typically available made of wood or plastic. Usually the wood reeds are made of 'cane', a natural material similar in structure to bamboo. We almost always recommend cane reeds over plastic reeds, since they sound a lot better, and are usually a lot more manageable. Plastic reeds cost more, but will last a lot longer (months instead of weeks). We find it difficult to get a good sound on a bassoon using a plastic reed. "LaVoz Cane Bassoon Reed - Medium Soft" has a sales rank of 15291.
